What data we process and why

• Enquiries (email, WhatsApp, phone): name, contact details and message, to reply to you. Legal basis: pre-contractual steps at your request (art. 6.1.b GDPR).
• Bookings: guest and stay details; payment details (bank transfer or PayPal). Legal basis: performance of the contract (art. 6.1.b).
• Legal obligations: registration of guests' details with the Italian police (art. 109 of the Consolidated Public Security Act), tourism statistics, city tourist tax, tax obligations. Legal basis: legal obligation (art. 6.1.c).
• Website use: technical data (such as IP address) processed by the hosting provider to run and protect the site. Legal basis: legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f).

Providers that process data

• Cloudflare (website hosting and email forwarding).
• PayPal and the controller's bank, for payments and any refunds.
• The online booking system, once active; data may also be processed outside the European Economic Area, with the safeguards required by the GDPR.
• Google (mailbox to which messages are forwarded).
• WhatsApp, if you choose to contact us through it.

Retention

We keep data for as long as needed to handle your enquiry or stay and for the periods required by law.

Your rights

You can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction and portability, and object to processing (articles 15–22 GDPR) by writing to info@saintgeorgebologna.com. You can lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
